woman with long, thick lashes

LATISSE®

LATISSE® is a prescription medication that is clinically proven to produce fuller, longer, and darker eyelashes. It is the first and only product that is FDA-approved to treat hypotrichosis, a condition that is characterized by the thinning or lack of eyelash growth.

LATISSE® is a topical solution that has become increasingly popular for those unhappy with sparse eyelash hair. When applied daily over an extended period of time, you can achieve more voluminous eyelashes and even reduce your dependence on mascara or other eyelash enhancement products.

When you come in for a consultation with one of our eye doctors in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, or one of our other offices, you can learn more about LATISSE®, including whether you are a good candidate and what to expect throughout the process.

How LATISSE® Works

The active ingredient in LATISSE®, known as bimatoprost ophthalmic solution, can effectively increase the number of eyelash hairs present, while also extending the duration of their growth phase, which leads to thicker and longer lashes. The topical formula should be applied to the base of the upper eyelid lashes once every day. Over the course of several weeks, the solution gradually takes effect. Patients can typically begin to see their eyelashes growing longer at four weeks, and at about 16 weeks, they will reach their optimal LATISSE® results.
