Get to Know Dr. Salib

Dr. David Salib is a board-certified and fellowship–trained vitreo-retinal specialist. He is an expert in treating patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and other sight-threatening disorders related to the retina and vitreous portion of the eye.

Dr. Salib joined Virginia Eye Consultants in 2008. He relocated to the Hampton Roads area from California, where he had been in private practice and also served as an attending physician in the Loma Linda University Department of Ophthalmology. During his time there, he was involved in extensive ground-breaking clinical research in vitreo-retinal diseases and published numerous professional journal articles.

Many of the most vision-threatening eye conditions are related to the retina, says Dr. Salib. He enjoys the challenge of making a difference for patients and looks forward to introducing the latest advances in treatment, especially in the area of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. With new advances in treatment of these conditions, it is more possible than ever to not just stabilize patients’ vision, but to actually improve it.

Dr. Salib and his wife Angie spend most of their free time at sporting events and swim meets with their three children.
