Dr. Rohit Adyanthaya, known to patients and colleagues as Dr. Roh, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in Vitreo-Retinal surgery. He is experienced in treating patients with a wide variety of retinal disorders, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, retinal tears, and retinal detachments. Dr. Roh is one of the select few retinal specialists in the country who has had the privilege of completing 2 ophthalmology residencies and fellowships. This extensive training gives him tremendous knowledge, skill and experience, which ultimately translates into superior patient care and treatment.
Throughout his career, Dr. Roh has been involved in numerous clinical trials for treating retinal diseases. His presentations and multiple surgical videos have earned him “Editor’s Choice” by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, highlighting his advanced expertise. He has also authored several articles in prominent journals and presented seminars on his research and work on retinal disorders. Dr. Roh is regarded as a leader in retinal disease and treatment, and has been featured by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) for his scholarly contributions on a variety of retinal disease topics. He is actively involved in clinical research and is a principal investigator in clinical trials.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Roh is also committed to educating other ophthalmologists in the latest advancements of treating retinal problems. Many of his surgical videos have been highlighted by the American Academy of Ophthalmology to help teach and guide other retinal surgeons. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring ophthalmology resident doctors as an Assistant Professor at the Eastern Virginia Medical School.
